Theater Scarlet is looking for actors for the autumn productions!

The plays to be performed: The Da Vinci Murders - a murder mystery that spans several millennia. We follow Mary Magdalene, Judas, and several other characters from Christ's time as immortal beings who, like vampires, live through the ages. It all revolves around the legend of the Holy Grail, and the play poses and, in some cases, answers many interesting philosophical questions. The play puts religion to the test.

Hats, Caps, and Murders - This murder mystery takes place in the 18th century and revolves around Gustav III and the coup, the factions of hats and caps, and a masquerade ball murder. We take the liberty to rewrite Swedish history and investigate who might have murdered the king. We will follow characters such as Carl Bellman's Maja Stina.

The current project involves murder mysteries with a three-course dinner.

Rehearsal period: August 14 - October 1

Rehearsals 2-4 days a week depending on whether you are in one or two plays.

Rehearsals Thursday - Sunday. Thursday and Friday from 5:00 PM to 10:30 PM and all day Saturday and Sunday.

Performance period: First weekend in October 2026 - Last weekend in April 2027.

Break from mid-December to the second weekend in January. Also, a break during Easter.

If you are in one play, you perform Friday and Saturday every other weekend; if you are in both plays, you perform Friday and Saturday every weekend.

You can choose to apply to be in one or two plays during the season.

Compensation: There are different arrangements for compensation, fixed salary or variable salary. Fixed salary will be 1491 SEK per performance. Variable salary has historically averaged around 1700 SEK per performance. The maximum salary per performance when fully booked, if you choose variable salary, is: 2424 SEK.

Good to know: The work includes actors helping with serving food during intermission and prepping the venue before the play and restoring the venue afterward. A shift at the theater is between 4:00 PM and 12:00 AM during the performance period.
